The Catering Department provides appropriate nutritious meals for the  hospital patients, visitors and members of staff as well as nutritional counselling for patients and clients. The staff consists of 3 trained dieticians/nutritionists, 15 caterers, 3 cooks, 5 stewardesses and 3 health attendants. The Dietetic Section prepares therapeutic diets and counselling for patients with different illnesses.

Vision

To give high standard of effective hygiene practices with skillful selection of food commodities to ensure best nutritional value for patients and clients

Services Provided
•    Preparation and provision of appropriate meal for in-patients and hospital staff
•    Nutritional  counseling and delivery of health talk to out patients during clinics    
•    Provision of refreshments for patients and staff.

Training Programmes
•    Training of Nutrition and Home Economics students on Industrial Attachment
•    In-house training on standard hospital catering
•    Annual conference of Nutritional Society of Nigeria
•    Training of Nutrition and Dietetics  students on hospital operations for clinical experience

5-Year Targets
To  procure modern catering equipment and sufficiently empower staff to provide excellent catering services to patients, clients and staff of the Federal Medical Centre Abeokuta.
